How fast has 28 weeks gone!? Far to fast I remember being pregnant with Mila and knowing exactly how many weeks and days pregnant I was ticking each day off, and waiting impatiently for Friday morning when I could read my weekly update on the Huggies website for what to expect that week, even though I had actually read it four times already, because I was too impatient and excited to wait. This time around instead of using weeks as major milestones, somehow it has become each trimester being the only milestones I have counted, and now I’m on my very last one! Next ill blink and it will be all go pushing that little baby out. We really are at the end of this awesome experience, I’m not sure if that makes me excited or very nervous, because in a couple of short months I will have two little ones under 15 months, crazy!
Now that I have googled third trimester, I really wish I hadn’t. The only thing it has done is made me remember how uncomfortable I will become. The main thing google reminds me is that I will get swollen, a sore back, Braxton Hicks contractions and stretch marks. Well that sounds like fun in the heat of Summer. Despite what google tells me I actually think that the third trimester is the best, no nausea like the first and you are definitely noticeably pregnant and not just chubby like the second trimester where people look at you “should I ask when you’re due, or is she just fat”, and it is the time where you can get really excited and start planning the nursery, buying tiny clothes, packing a hospital bag and feeling that mini gymnast flip and kick inside you. If the amount of kicking is any indication on your child’s energy levels once born, I am in some serious trouble. Boy does Mila have some really crazy energy and won’t stop running around the place but I swear she didn’t move half as much as this baby has been.
Heres a bit of a bumpdate, my belly is pretty massive and I can hardly fit most of my wardrobe already unless I want a bunch of split seams and popped buttons. We have upgraded from fruit size comparison to vegetable ones, this week she is the size of a squash, I really hope she isn’t squashed in there because that sounds massive (couldn’t help myself sorry). Baby is moving a whole lot and won’t stop wriggling about all day (maybe she has insomnia because when I wake up in the night she is still hard at it!). Blood tests have told me that I have anaemia (iron deficiency) no wonder I’m conked out at 8pm these days! We STILL have no name yet. Poor child will have to be called Wednesday or what ever day she is born on at this rate.
